drown out noise at condos

Hotels are usually ok because they are built to keep the noise down to a minimum. Condos, however are not. Many people who stay at condos complain that early-morning parking lot noise or late-night pool noise intrudes on their sleep. What we do is bring or buy a fan (I like the big box fans you can usually get at walmart for $10.00) and turn it on at night to drown out any of those noises. When we went to Illinois and New Jersey and California on a three week trip I even carried a medium size fan in my luggage to set up next to the bed.

Earplugs work too, but actually work even better when combined with a loud, droning fan.

condos are real money-savers

Instead of a hotel room, look around for a condo with a full kitchen. You can cook some of your meals - at least breakfast and pack a lunch. I know you think that you wouldn't want to do this but believe me, it gets hard to eat out for every meal, not to mention expensive and fattening!

Condominium or apartment hotel rooms can normally be found at very inexpensive rates because you are usually renting from someone who actually owns the unit (maybe they plan on retiring there, or they save it for their vacations) and since they are paying the rent on the place regardless they can afford to make the rates a little lower to make the place more attractive.

Besides the kitchens you also usually get free parking, a larger unit, nicer beds, and a closet full of beach toys for your use.
